Will I need to deal with international delivery to China buyers?
With us, you don’t have to deal with international delivery to China. You’re only required to be able to deliver your products to a designated warehouse address in your home country, and then the rest would be taken care of. Please note:
- You should ship out your products and provide effective shipment track ID in the system within 24 hours (1 day) after order received so that Transit shipment to China can be arranged appropriately.
- It’d be best if you can ship inventory to our HK warehouse so that we can provide better service to Chinese buyers to increase sales opportunities.
Will I need to understand Chinese to expand my business into China market?
With us, you don’t need understand Chinese. We provide services of Chinese localization of your product listing and of China local customer service support for product selling.
How do I get paid? In what currency?
- We provide free payment processing service between you and China buyers. All balances for orders that have been shipped out for 30days will be reflected in finance statement summary initiated on 1st and 15th of each month at your China World Town seller account, except balance of orders that are still in claim or in product return and unsettled though have been shipped out for 30 days.
- Processing date for funds balance transferring to your bank account is normally scheduled on 5th and 20th of each month under your request; In case that 5th and 20th of any month is not business day, processing date for transferring will be then moved to next closest business day. The amount you receive in your designated bank account will be USD.
- You don’t need to set up China local bank account, but you should provide us true and accurate information of your designated bank account in your home country for funds remittance to you.
Can I make sure that buyers have paid for their orders before I ship my products out?
- To prevent payment fraud, the orders that you receive in your seller account at our site are the orders that our system have identified that China buyer has paid their purchase.
What types of price can I list? What currency price should I list?
Please list your product price in USD.
You are allowed to list in your product on our system with three types of pricing simultaneously:
- Retail Price, a price that allows buyer to purchase piece by piece.
- Volume Price, a price lower than retail price if buyer purchases in a certain volume per order per SKU, similar like group purchase price or wholesales price, or bulk purchase price.
- Promotion Price, a price that you offer to promote your products in a certain period. This is also a price that allows buyer to purchase piece by piece.
Retail price is required to list for all product listings. Volume price and Promotion price are not required, but best to have volume price inyour product listing if possible.
Please note:
- All of listed price should be a domestic delivery fee inclusive, but international delivery fee exclusive. (Domestic delivery of your products to a designated warehouse address in your home country will be needed though you don’t have to offer international shipping to China).
- In general, all tax cost components related with domestic selling would be no need to be considered in your price listing since all orders you receive are international orders from China buyers. Still, please consult with your local tax expert about it for final confirmation.
- To keep our marketplace offers competitive, the listed price of your products on our site should be at least 5% lower than the price that you are selling on any other sales channel. If you’re not meeting this pricing requirement, below action may be taken by us: warning, suspending or terminating your seller account on our site.
What products should I list?
You’ll never know what surprises you since there’re a large variety of China buyers and consumers waiting for you, therefore, more you list, better chance you sell. In general:
- Products with competitive pricing can be prioritized to list
- Unique/special products or brands can be prioritized to list
- Famous brands’ products can be prioritized to list
- Products manufactured from China can be prioritized to list as long as their brands are not China local market brands.
You’re not allowed to list products in the restricted product list.
As a seller direct selling to China consumers in China market, what China regulations need to apply to?
China has multi-regulations to rule on direct selling activities to China consumers to protect interests of consumers. Below are basic regulations you will have to apply to for your reference if you sell directly by yourself to China consumers:
- Business license and tax registration: As a seller qualified to direct sell products to China consumers in China market, you’re first required to be a company registered in mainland China. To be a company registered in mainland China, you are required to establish a local office, hire local employees and have local capital in mainland China.
- Invoice Issuance requirement: You should be able to issue invoices to Chinese consumers for each purchase. These invoices are not customizable nor can they be sent by e-mail. Instead, invoice books are formatted and printed by the China tax bureau, and you will need to purchase such books and deal with taxation on a monthly basis. Also, each invoice is required to have your official company stamp on it before it is issued to Chinese consumers.
- Importing documentation Requirement: To be able sell international products to China consumers, you are required to be able to provide all import related documents to prove your products are brought into China legally and formally as commercial products. To do that, your local entity normally needs to be a company with an import license in China and be able to handle all importation process and documents manually.
- Language Requirements: You are required to be able to respond to customer contacts in Chinese.
- Foreign currency requirement: You should sell your products in RMB. Under the fact that RMB is not a free currency in market, you should be able to deal with foreign currency exchange under China foreign currency regulations.
- China local return in 7 days: From 2014 March 15th, as a seller, you’re required to allow China consumers to return the purchased products within 7 days after products received to a China local address without asking reasons.
What document should I provide before I start to sell through China World Town?
Except that you need to set up your account and list your products onto our system, you would also need to provide us below documents before officially starting to sell in China market:
Documents will include but not limit to:
- Trademark Registration Certificate for Brand that you plan to sell
- Company Registration Certificate
- Authorization Letter to China World Town from Brand Owner, allowing us to sell this brand in China market
What are the requirements for product image provided in China World Town system?
For each product listed in our system, you shall provide at least 4 product images including 1 Main Front product image, 1 Back side of product image, 1 Left side of product image, 1 right side of product image.
